Description

How do you feel about rediscovering Korean treasures hidden around the world and using them in your daily life? This tray is made using an unconventional production method: traditional Korean pottery is reflected into 100% pH-neutral cotton and pressed into a strong FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic). Such artisanal handicraft is rare and looks exquisite on the sheer surface of the tray, giving an extra warm texture in daylight.

Meaningful motifs are drawn on pots to convey hopes and dreams for the future. The butterfly pattern has long represented love, freedom, and happiness. This has made it one of the most popular traditional patterns used in household products. Since butterflies appear in spring, they also symbolize the fulfillment of wishes and the coming of a new year.

We invite you to experience this beauty of Korean tradition and hope that the message of the bamboo from Korea’s pottery heritage will be conveyed to all those who use the tray.

Instructions for Care

  • Do not expose the tray to direct sunlight for a long time as it may cause deformation and discoloration.

  • Never use for direct cooking.
  • Immediately wipe up spills, especially stainable items such as coffee and red wine.

    Artist Profile

Jeongeun Kang, a South Korean artist, experiments with unusual combinations of new and old materials with a focus on artistic value, to resurface the origins of traditional Korean culture. Since her work is based on artifacts dating back thousands of years, she derives a lot of inspiration from artifacts displayed in museums and galleries in Korea and abroad. She claims that there are still many patterns and artifacts that are unfamiliar to her, even though she was born and raised in Korea and has lived in Korea her entire life. Through her brand VONZ, she is working towards preserving Korean traditions by integrating unfamiliar cultural heritage into everyday life.
